Here are just a few of the ways we support the Ventura County community:
To facilitate efforts to provide financial assistance and education to our community, we formed The Foundation of Ventura County Credit Union, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, in 2015. The Foundation focuses on helping the underserved, beautifying and preserving our environment, and promoting health and well-being.
By nature, VCCU is a philanthropic organization. In recent years, we've provided over a half-million dollars, thousands of pounds of food, and school supplies to charitable organizations through our corporate giving and in-branch fundraisers. We also offer each of our staff members compensation for up to 40 hours per year of volunteer time.
VCCU partners with academic institutions, businesses, and other local organizations to host workshops and webinars on key topics. These include everything from money management and fraud prevention to buying a home and understanding credit scores. If you're interested in financial education for your organization, please contact us about our Financial Education Program.
Working with organizations such as the Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP) and the Consulate of Mexico, VCCU has developed an outreach program for Hispanic communities, agricultural companies and community partners. Free financial services, answer financial questions, and provide additional assistance as needed. For our commitment, VCCU in 2017 received the Juntos Avanzamos, “Together We Advance” designation from the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
VCCU supports a variety of charitable efforts and we invite you to join us.
Member opportunities include donating to our canned food drive or one of our fundraising events or sharing the benefits of membership with neighbors and family.
If you are looking for support for your organization, complete our Contribution Request Form (please note that we currently do not make contributions to athletic, political or religious organizations).
To have VCCU host a Financial Education Workshop for your group, or to discuss additional ideas for community-oriented collaboration with VCCU send an email to Community Development.
VCCU is an active member of many of Chambers of Commerce throughout Ventura County and proudly sponsors numerous chamber events and mixers each year.
Check the VCCU website throughout the year for fundraising events.
